The coaching is confidential: This basic agreement guarantees the legitimacy of the coaching and ensures that there is trust in the coach/coaching program.

The focus is on the coachee: The coaching is positioned as a development tool and focuses specifically on what will best develop the individual or team. Although it can not force individuals to accept values and standards of the organization, it makes the employee aware of the company’s culture and what is being expected of his/her overall performance by the firm.

The coaching is a development tool/not an evaluation tool: The coaching must remain as a development tool and not a performance evaluation or reporting tool for the organization. At times coaching may include diagnostics or feedback to help the coachee focus on their development needs.
